# Recording Artist Agreement This Recording Artist Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into as of ___________ between: **Record Label:** ___________ ("Label"), a company organized and existing under the laws of ___________, with its principal place of business at ___________; and **Recording Artist:** ___________ ("Artist"), professionally known as ___________, residing at ___________. Label and Artist are each referred to herein as a "Party" and collectively as the "Parties." --- ## 1. Term and Options ### 1.1 Initial Period The initial term of this Agreement commences on the date of full execution and continues until Artist delivers and Label accepts the minimum recording commitment set forth in Section 3 below ("Initial Period"). ### 1.2 Option Periods Label shall have ___________ consecutive options to extend this Agreement for additional periods ("Option Period(s)") on the same terms and conditions. Each option must be exercised in writing no later than ___________ days before the expiration of the then-current period. --- ## 2. Exclusivity During the term, Artist shall record musical compositions exclusively for Label and shall not record for, or authorize any other person or entity to manufacture, distribute, or sell recordings of Artist's performances without Label's prior written consent, except as expressly set forth herein. --- ## 3. Recording Commitment ### 3.1 Minimum Commitment During each contract period, Artist shall record and deliver to Label a minimum of ___________ master recordings of commercially satisfactory quality ("Masters"). Each Initial Period or Option Period shall yield no fewer than ___________ album(s), each consisting of no fewer than ___________ original tracks with a minimum total playing time of ___________ minutes. ### 3.2 Recording Fund Label shall make available a recording fund of ___________ per album ("Recording Fund"), inclusive of any Advance paid to Artist. Artist shall control and be responsible for all recording costs; amounts expended for recording costs are recoupable. Any surplus of the Recording Fund after recording costs are paid shall be paid to Artist as an Advance against royalties.
